NIGHT FLYING AT APG INTERNATIONAL AVIATION ACADEMY PHILIPPINES
Aviation is a big world, and this topic has caught my
attention and my imagination during my early age. After graduating High school
my first decision was to immediately join an Aviation School. After looking
thru various schools I decided to join one of the best flying school in the
Philippines. Philippines is an easy
choice for me due to the advantages that it offers for my flight training, Like
its near from Indonesia where in I can go back to my country anytime, also the
thing I like the most is that I can practice my English, They use Subic Bay
International Airport as their training ground. When I first arrive in
Philippines I was not able to speak English that good but due to the support
and training from my instructors and guidance of the school I was able to
practice and enhance my English.
Aside from all of that the one thing that really caught my
interest is Night Flying. I’ve heard about it, I was not able to fully
understand it until I experience it thru my School. Night flying according to
FAA(federal aviation administration)is the time between the end of civil
twilight and the beginning of morning civil twilight, civil twilight(sunset) and
morning civil twilight(sunrise). The minimum license that the student should
have in their pocket is PPL (Private Pilot License) license, and atleast 50
hours of flight time.
Before a student can conduct Night Flying there are things
that has to be considered. When flying at night visibility is low and the
student must rely on the Instrument most of the time. At my Flying School we
are required to do our Flight Plan 5 hours before flying, Instructors work with
me thru the whole process to guide me and explain the procedures during Night
Flying. One of the benefits of Night Flying to a student pilot is the
experience of reading and interpreting the Instruments and following procedures
these things hightens the awareness of the student of his surroundings.
During my Night Flight I was able to experience things that I
couldn’t get in day flight like the feeling while I touch down in the ground
because pilot needs to maintain outside view or need to disconnect the
autopilot for atleast 350 ft above the ground.
In Philippines there are only few flying school who provides
Night Flight and my School is one of them. APG International Aviation Academy
Philippines is base in Subic Bay International Airport, it utelise state of the
art facility that the student needs for their flight training. A 10,000 square
metre passenger terminal, 2 stearn jetways, Close-circuit Television, 9,000
foot runway as well as lights and tower.
